About me

I have produced animation, events and interactive drama since 1997. I hold a BA in Arts Management and continue to educate myself for example through the Cartoon Masters courses. My “MA” was my hands-on role as production manager on the highly successful 3D feature Niko & the Way to the Stars. I’m also chairman of the board of Finnanimation, the network of Finnish animation producers.
Publications, speaking and teaching
I’ve held a opening keynote at MIPTV, and spoken on topics such as “The secret of Angry Birds’ success” (Great Wall Club, Beijing) and “Partnerships between animated movies and mobile games” (Cartoon Masters Feature, Munich).
This site is home to my regular currently suspended blog on producing animation and film financing and my ebook on how to coproduce with Germany. I have also had articles published in the magazine of Mediadesk Finland and on Freelanceswitch.
Since 2004 I have taught various courses on producing at the Aalto University’s Motion Picture department, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Turku Arts Academy, Oulu University of Applied Sciences and the Church Training College in Järvenpää.
